I have decided after the last weird piece I wrote was so well received, I would start doing this more regularly. Sharing stories that have baffled and intrigued me for years, but stories that seem to be unexplained or even sometimes seem to hint at supernatural solutions. I am not saying I believe or don’t believe in this stuff. I am just saying maybe if enough of us open a discussion about it, we can figure out it together, rationally. This week I want to focus on the story of Charles E. Peck. A name you will not soon forget after hearing the following story. Keep in mind, I am just telling you the story as fact, with no real opinion put in. I am leaving the speculation purely up to you. Be forewarned, though maybe not scary, but this is something that will stay with you. Haunting might be the better (and more ironic) word to use here. Yes. This is all quite haunting.

What The Very Fuck?
It is September 12th of the 2008th year of this century. A man named Charles E. Peck is riding in a train in L.A when the train conductor makes a fatal error. Missing a blinking red light, he shifted their train on to the adjoined track and began moving forward, unaware there was already a train on that line travelling full speed. I am sure you can imagine what happens next, and you would be right. The two trains collide. Most know trains travel at high speeds, so as you can imagine, this wreckage was not pretty, with few walking away from it. That, in itself, is not what makes this weird. That’s just makes it a tragedy. The weird comes next. For the next twelve hours, to be exact. What makes it weird is Charles E. Peck placed 30 calls on his cell phone to family members for the next twelve hours. His fiancée’, his mother, his siblings. They all kept receiving calls from Peck, but when they would pick up, all they would hear is static. When they would call back, it would right to voicemail. This went on for about twelve hours. Frantic, the family finally called in some help and people went to look for the trains. Wouldn’t you know, they found them as two mangled metal corpses, smashed together. So who was making the calls, and how?
No one still knows.

They finally found Charles E. Peck, but it was clear to first responders he had to have died upon impact. This means for 12 hours AFTER this man died, he (or his phone, or someone) somehow made calls to his family. For any haters or insta-doubters, this has been proven true and did, indeed, actually happen (or it wouldn’t be here). So how did a dead man make a call to all the people he loves the most after he dies, whilst laying dead in smoldering wreckage surrounded by the other dead people? Someone SURELY must have an answer, right?
RIGHT???!!!
Some theories are:
His phone got so fucked up in wreckage it somehow began dialing his recent contacts.
Just a glitch in the phone as it got mangled.
He had perhaps been texting or using phone during accident, which may have been reason it got so messed up but still worked in actual crash.
He straight ghosted motherfuckers and was calling them from beyond the grave to let them know he was alright.
Hey, I just said theories. I, for one, have no idea how this dead dude called all his loved ones hours and hours after he passed away. Oh, and by the way, regarding the phone itself (which led people to find the crash). Though they found the crash because of the call, they NEVER fucking recovered the phone. Yeah, ghost phone was LITERALLY a ghost phone. All this shit makes this story even more insane.
No Further Evidence?
Nope, that is just it. Someone on a train contacted his dead family for twelve hours and multiple times after he was mangled and killed in a train wreck, and not a single motherfucker on this earth can figure out how or why. If that is not a story worthy of ‘weekly weird’ I don’t know what it is? Maybe we would all like to think he reached out to his loved ones to let them know he was at peace. Maybe the phone got crushed in such a way it just spazzed out and started dialing his people. Truth is, there is no answer here. NO final solution. Just another thing for us to be awed by and speculate about. So take to the comments and take to my Facebook and let me know your thoughts on the weird, posthumous phone calls Charles E. Peck made to his family after he died in a train crash. It also makes me think about the movie Unbreakable. Weird thing is, actual train crash came AFTER the movie. See, told you this was weird. Hit me up, would love to know your thoughts on this.
